If your train is delayed for more than 10 minutes, you can now sign up to First Capital Connect for a free alert.

The new email and text service can be tailored to your specific service.

The initiative is a direct result of customer feedback on the company’s Your Ideas website.

A ‘comfort alert’ is also available with a live departure board.

Passengers can also select to be notified about scheduled changes as a result of engineering work.

People can access the information via their smart phones at www.firstcapitalconnect.co.uk/alerts
