Partnered with Luton Borough Council, the airport’s first ever careers show drew over 937 people to the UK Carnival Arts Centre, Luton, exhibiting 400 career opportunities from companies based in or around the airport.

At the October 5 event, visitors were able to meet prospective employers and establish contacts, with the jobs available ranging from entry-level roles for young people to managerial functions for more experienced workers.

Chika Austin, community relations executive at LLA, said: “The fair provided a great opportunity for local people to get to know the wide range of employers at LLA.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming a host of new faces at the airport embarking on exciting new careers.”

LLA is currently investing over £110million to transform the airport and increase its capacity. The investment is expected to create 7,100 new jobs in the area, increasing the number of people employed by the airport and its supply chain from 15,900 in 2013 to 23,000 by 2030.
