Find your next job at careers fair

Job seekers are invited to a free careers fair at Futures House, The Moakes, in Marsh Farm on Wednesday (February 27).

Luton Borough Council is joining forces with Marsh Farm Futures, Job Centre Plus and other local organisations to provde the jobs, skills and training fair which will take place from 10am - 4pm.

Everyone is welcome and it’s a great opportunity to meet local employers offering job opportunities and recruiting to fill vacancies, local colleges and training providers, organisations committed to helping job seekers, and Job Centre Plus and careers advisers.

Single parents and women returning to work after having children are encouraged to come along, together with anyone who is unemployed, claiming Employment Support or Job Seeker’s Allowance.

Support is also available for anyone recently made or about to be made redundant, plus a CV surgery and top tips for online applications.

Cllr Sian Timoney, portfolio holder for regeneration in Luton, said: “Life without a job bringing in a decent regular salary is tough. But with the Central Government’s welfare benefit changes, it’s suddenly getting a whole lot tougher.

“The Council is doing everything it can to help and encourage people to expand their minds and opportunities and prepare for the future.”

Other organisations supporting the jobs, skills and training fair along with the Council, Job Centre Plus and Marsh Farm Futures include Diverse FM, University of Bedfordshire and Apprenticeships.
