Luton Airport consultation begins – have your say

A SERIES of consultation events on proposals to expand passenger numbers at Luton Airport begins on Monday (February 13).

Airport bosses want to double the current number of passengers to 18 million, with the possibility of growth to 30 million in the future, using the existing runway.

London Luton Airport Limited, which runs the airport on behalf of Luton Borough Council, says the growth would create 6,000 new jobs at the airport, but anti-noise campaigners have voiced concerns about the increase in passenger numbers.

Concerns have also been raised about how the roads leading up to the airport would cope with an increase in traffic.

Monday’s consultation event takes place at the Hat Factory in Bute Street, Luton, from 2pm–8pm.

Stevenage (Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre), Monday February 27, 2pm–8pm

Luton South (Stockwood Discovery Centre) Wednesday February 29, 2pm–8pm

Wheathampstead (Memorial Hall), Thursday March 1, 2pm–8pm

Breachwood Green (Village Hall), Monday March 5, 2pm–8pm

Luton East (Raynham Way Community Centre), Thursday March 8, 1.30pm–7pm
