There’s something for everyone this holiday weekend, whether you want to celebrate England’s patron saint, enjoy traditional Easter activities like egg hunts or simply relax with friends and family.
The newly created Community Events Network is organising a fun-filled day in Luton’s St George’s Square on Saturday from noon to 5pm.
It promises a varied menu of folk music, opera, Morris dancers, Bollywood and street dancing and a kids’ zone featuring wooden boat swings, Punch & Judy and a George and the Dragon headdress workshop.
On Sunday you can enjoy another family fun day at the Old Sugar Loaf pub in Dunstable’s High Street North – and it’s for a good cause. Staff are raising funds for Cancer Research UK in support of duty manager Jen McCrea, who has a brain tumour. Six are having their heads shaved in solidarity with the popular teenager while others are submitting to chest waxing.
Luton’s Dallow Community Centre is holding a family fun day on Sunday, hosted by Inspire FM. It’s also in aid of charity and includes a clown striker, body zorbing, penalty shoot-out and bouncy castle.
