Organised by receptionist Teresa Profeta – with a little help from catering and food tech teachers Amanda Selby and Diccon Burr, together with Year 10 catering pupils and student leaders – it raised a mouth-watering total of £490 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Staff donated cakes while students baked not only during lessons but also after hours to ensure there was enough for the whole school and the following social occasion when 30 members of the local community were invited for tea, coffee and delicious eats.
Pupils proved to be fantastic hosts helping carry drinks and joining in conversation. They also got their visitors involved in a ‘Guess the number of spots on the cake’ competition, with the proceeds being split between the charity and the winner.
Mrs Profeta said the sucessful event reflected “the commitment, hard work and support of everyone involved.”
