Chantry Primary Academy pupils wrote a message to the Queen to celebrate her 90th birthday.

Pupils celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday by releasing hundreds of balloons

The pupils gathered on the school field at lunchtime, sang the national anthem and happy birthday while they released the balloons.

Jenni Lloyd, assistant headteacher, said: “We wanted to wish Her Majesty a happy birthday ‘Chantry style’ and we achieved that!
“A huge thanks must go to the Parent Teacher Association for all of their hard work in organising the event!”

Parents joined the pupils on the field while they sang, waved their flags and released their balloons, all the pupils were given a commemorate coin to take home.

The school has received Facebook messages, emails, cards and letters from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Holland and Germany, to say they have found the balloons.
