Cardinal Newman Catholic School scooped top prize at the Luton Senior Schools Track and Field Championships at Stockwood Park on Thursday, May 8.
Putteridge High organised the competition with emphasis on community spirit and cohesion.
The schools each represented one of the Olympic countries and took part in a number of activities including hurdles, long, high and triple jump, short and long distance running, javelin, shot put and discuss.
Gold, silver and bronze medals were presented to first, second and third winners and students whose best event scored the highest points received an individual athlete award.
Cardinal Newman was presented with a shield for achieving the highest overall score, Ashcroft High school was awarded an overall coronation cup and individual cups were presented to Stopsley girls and Ashcroft boys.
Laura Bartoletti, PE Teacher said: “A massive thanks to the staff from all Luton schools who pulled together and made the day worthwhile for the pupils.
“A special thanks to the year 10 leaders from Putteridge High who spent the whole day getting soaked and doing whatever was necessary to ensure the event was a huge success and also to the team at Stockwood for their time and input.”
