Adopting a child can be challenging – but it can also be extremely rewarding.
Luton Borough Council is appealing for loving families to come forward to provide nurturing permanent homes for children of all ages and backgrounds, ethnicities and religions, as well as sibling groups.
It’s holding an adoption information event tomorrow (June 12) from 6.30pm to 8pm at Stopsley Baptist Church.
Anyone interested will be able to talk to experienced qualified social workers who will explain the adoption process in more detail.
Adoptive parents will also be at the event to answer questions and give a first-hand account of what it’s like to adopt a child.
Prospective parents should be over 21, flexible, patient and energetic. They can be married, single or in a same sex relationship and they should also have the ability to support a child through to adulthood.
Issues such as age and health will be important considerations when the adoption team assesses formal applications.
