There'll be bouncy castles, refreshments and much more at Farley Community Centre on Saturday (June 11).

The free family fun day is being organised by Farley Big Local to welcome Money Matters Credit Union, a not-for-profit organisation.

Although credit unions offer similar services to banks, they’re member-owned and co-operative institutions which means they provide a safe place to save and borrow at reasonable rates.

Big Local, which is funded by Big Local Trust, has been awarded £1-million over 10 years to make lasting changes and improve life for all residents.

The project is supported by Age Concern Luton – which provides help with adinistration and organisation – and managed by a group of residents and community partners.

Farley Big Local group chair Nick Dockery said: “We know that many struggle with money issues and we’re delighted that thanks to the grant Money Matters will be here in Farley on Monday and Saturday mornings.

“Our aim is to make Farley a really nice place to live in and raise your family. Future plans include improving green spaces and bringing the community together on trips and at craft classes, etc.”
He added: “We’ve just employed a worker to help with community development and you can contact her on [email protected] or leave a message on 01582 456812.”
