After years of growing his locks Elliot Dunne, of Saywell Road, has more than 21 inches to be proud of – but will say goodbye to it tomorrow as he undergoes a dramatic snip for charity.

Donations from friends and family members will be given to Macmillan Cancer Support, while the hair will be sent to the Little Princess Trust.

This charity helps boys and girls across the country suffering from hair loss by providing them with real hair wigs.

At the time of writing Elliot has raised £580 but is hoping to add to the fund before he goes under the chop.

The 26-year-old said: “I have seen the great work that Macmillan do first hand and through other people so I thought it’s time to give something back.

“This is one of the scariest things I have ever chosen to do but it was one of the easiest decisions to make.”
