Visitors to Luton Hoo Walled Garden’s Heritage Days at the weekend were given a unique preview of the only Wade one-man Drag Saw on public display in the UK.

The awesome-looking piece of equipment, made in Portland, Oregon in the 1920s, has been lovingly restored by volunteers.

It was found in the grounds of the estate and had been modified with the addition of two cart wheels, presumably for ease of transport.

A spokesman said the historic implement was in good condition, apart from its missing ignition system and fuel tank.
