The invitation was issued to the 17-year-old, who has autism spectrum disorder, to celebrate 10 years of support from the charity which provides practical and emotional support to disabled children and their families.

Keavy has benefitted from various therapies including ABA (applied behavioural analysis) and DNI (dietary and nutritional interventions).

Her condition originally left her with limited communication skills and no awareness of danger. She’s now in her first year at Bedford College where she’s taking an access course that hopefully will lead on to a fashion and textile course.

This year’s Ball features one of the most successful songwriters of all time, Burt Bacharach, and the recently reformed girl group All Saints.

Keavy’s parents Caroline and Brendan are also looking forward to the evening.

Caroline, 52, said: “Keavy watches all the singing programmes like The X Factor. I’m hopingthere may be a few pop stars there that she can pose with on the red carpet.”
