Luton quiz to help Alzheimer's

A group of young people from all over the UK have come together to raise money and host an event for Alzheimer's Society, as part of a summer school run by Luton South MP Gavin Shuker.

The family-friendly event entitled Get Your Quiz on is being held tonight (August 17) at Caddington Sports and Social Club.

Tickets cost £7 each and are available only in advance from 07875 300375. There are various prizes including tea for two with Gavin in the Houses of Parliament.

The students have also set up Facebook and Twitter campaigns called #IRemember, inspired by last summer’s Ice Bucket challenge.

Participants post a photo or video of a favourite memory, then tag three friends to do the same while donating to Alzheimer’s JustGiving page by texting ‘IREM81 £3’ to 70070.

Organiser Katy Frodsham, 20, said: “Meeting Alzheimer’s ambassadors and attending local events run by the charity really opened our eyes to the amazing work they do in Luton.”
