Luton's cultural quarter to offer fantastic vibe

It’s a collection of creative businesses, independent retailers, restaurants and event venues with live entertainment in the Bute and Guildford Street area.

The space already hosts regular gigs and festivals, along with the state-of-the-art £2.5 million Youthscape building and Luton’s very own jazz and blues club.

It’s just one of the developments planned in Luton’s exciting £1.5 billion transformation.

Corporate director of space and infratsructure Laura Church said: “It’s only right that we make the most of the recent regeneration of this area by organising a programme of activity for all the family to enjoy.

“Whether you’re into food, films, sport or music, there will be something for everyone.

“This wonderful and vibrant space in the heart of our town centre is a just a two minute walk to the train station, making it easily accessible to thousands of people.

“It will be like our own mini Covent Garden.”

Two weekends of entertainment are being organised to launch the new outdoor performance space in Bute Street.

From Friday, July 1, local restaurants will set up food stalls for people to tsample the area’s delicious cuisine. In addition to street performers and live music, a big screen will show Wimbledon live and blockbuster family films.
