A man is in hospital with serious head injuries after a fight in Chaul End Lane in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police believe that the 27-year-old victim had stopped in his vehicle having seen a group of people in the retail car park in Chaul End Lane between midnight and 3am, when a fight broke out.
Leading the investigation in to the cause of the man’s injuries, Detective Sergeant Katherine Rivers, of the Serious Crime Investigation Unit, said: “Officers have not been able to speak with the man yet but we believe he may have been assaulted in the Chaul End Lane area of Luton.
“I would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the retail park area during the early hours of Sunday morning to come forward to speak with officers and help piece together what happened to this man.”
The man is described as being in a serious but stable condition and remains in hospital receiving treatment to the injuries.
