Sundon Park victims of abuse have planned a Party with a Purpose to raise awareness of their feelings of isolation and encourage others to seek support.
ParkFest 4 AVS is being held on Leagrave Common from 12 noon to 7pm on Saturday August 31 and is being organised by award-winning NINE RED Presents
One of the highlights of the day will be an opportunity to play against Hatters legends in a five-a-side football tournament.
This is part of the Community Games initiative inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
There will also be a performance and workshop by Paralympic ceremony performers Paul Wilshaw and Debra Knight.
The Festival will be opened by Luton mayor Cllr Sheila Roden and will offer music, sports and cultural arts activities for the whole community.
There will be something for everyone with face painting and glitter tattoos, children’s rides, Zorb balls and an amazing colour maze.
In addition there will be football and cricket tournaments, a Diverse Britain exhibition, raffles and prizes as well as food and beverage stalls.
There will also be a tempting array of gift items.
