Pupils presented with new school minibus

Six pupils travelled with assistant headteacher, Jamie Kelly, to Stevenage to receive the Variety Sunshine Coach in a special presentation.

The primary school has two specially resourced provisions, one for 12 visually impaired pupils and one for ten pupils with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The new Sunshine Coach will give the visually impaired pupils access to horse riding, residential visits and sporting events.

Children with behavioural and emotional difficulties will use the minibus for visits to build their social skills.

Mr Kelly said: “The Sunshine Coach will be immensely valuable to the children allowing their young minds to explore places they would otherwise never get the chance to visit.

“We would like to thank Variety for the minibus and the Leeds Building Society for the £26,000 donation and also the great fundraising efforts of the school’s Parent Teacher Association.”

The money was raised through charity campaigns by Leeds Building Society’s members.
