Four friends who’ve been close buddies since school days at Icknield High have signed up to do a charity challenge for Keech Hospice Care.
The quartet – Ami Henderson, Deborah Bosworth, James Thomas and Carly Hewitt – set off on a five-day trek to the Sahara in March.
And they’ve already embarked on a celebrity-studded fundraising campaign to raise the £8,000 sponsorship they’ll need.
They held Trek Tracks at Vogue Fabrics in Dalston last week and have organised a Hallowe’en party at Westoning on Friday, October 25.
In addition Ami, who runs A-Stars Dance & Fitness Academy, is presenting two shows at the Grove Theatre on Sunday, October 27, and on Saturday November 9 there’s an evening of entertainment at Stopsley Working Men’s Club featuring five live acts.
Ami said: “It’s nice that we can give something back and Keech is amazing – it’s a place that touches all of us.
“It’s great that we can do something together for such a good cause.
“And I’m sure we’ll have a really, really good time.”
