Student scores US scholarship

The former Icknield High pupil, who started kicking a ball with his older brothers when he was just three, has his heart set on a career in sports analysis. He leaves for the States next month where he will take a degree in marketing research and economics while continuing full time college soccer.

Kai, of Talbot Road, currently works in recruitment and plays semi-professionally for Arlesey Town.

He said: “I’m very, very excited. I’ve never been to America before and this is something I’ve wanted to do all my life – it will make me step out of my comfort zone.”

His proud dad Carmine, of Buccis Hair Design in Old Bedford Road, said: “He can’t wait to go.

“It’s such a fantastic opportunity and will certainly take his career forward.”
