It’s wildlife watch time as I share with you an unusual sight at Luton’s Wardown Park, writes Steve Sims.
Wandering through Lovers Walk as I often do I spotted among the ducks a much larger bird. It was in fact a heron.
I have heard stories over the years about herons from the park flying into gardens in neighbouring streets to gobble up expensive fish from people’s ponds. But this is the first time in all these years that I’ve actually spotted a heron.
See our website for a bit of video footage I grabbed on my mobile phone, which also includes geese who believe they’re flamingos.
Have you seen a heron too? Email firstname.lastname@example.org with the details.
This is an extract from the Simply Sims column which appears every Wednesday in the Luton News.
