Staff from The Mall’s Wilkinson’s store have launched a new charity partnership with Great Ormond Street Hospital.
They are asking customers to donate their spare change to help them fill the store with a mile of pennies, their target is 84,840 pennies.
Last year they raised £4,500 for Keech Hospice.
Graeme Bickle, store manager, said: “As a community focused company, we’re always keen to help as many worthy causes in our local area as we can, and we chose Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity to be our new regional charity of the year as a team.
“We can’t wait to get going with our fundraising, there’s plenty more ideas in the pipeline, and although 84,840 pennies is a huge target, we’re sure our loyal customers in Luton will support us on our way to another amazing total over the next 12 months.”
Becca Glanville, corporate account executive at Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity, said: “We’re thrilled to have the Wilko team on board as a key fundraiser. The money it raises will help provide world-class care for our patients and families from across the UK.
“We’re grateful for all the support the team will be giving us over the coming year.”
