Appeal after car jacking

Police are appealing for witnesses after the driver of a car was robbed in Luton yesterday (Thursday).

The man was driving his silver 55 plate Vauxhall Vectra down Ely Way at approximately 1pm when he was approached by two men who demanded money while punching him.

The victim managed to escape from his car and leave the scene. The two offenders then stole the vehicle and drove off.

Detective Constable Colin Knight, investigating, said: “This was a completely appalling random attack and I’m urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who believes they may have seen the vehicle, to get in touch immediately.

“Both offenders are described as slim mixed race men with short black hair and stubble. One man is believed to be around six feet tall and wearing a black jacket, while the other was around 5’8”.”
