Appeal as teen robbed of bike

The youth was with a friend when he was robbed and his bike was stolen on Monday (18 July) at the junction of Marlborough Road and Argyll Avenue.

At around 8.23pm, the victim was cycling along a path towards Alexandra Avenue, with a friend walking beside him.

They were approached by three men, who threatened the victim and took his bike. The men then left in the direction of Argyll Avenue, and turned left onto Chaucer Road.

The first offender is described as black, approximately 19 or 20-years-old and around 5’11”. He is believed to have been wearing a black puffa jacket and black trousers, and was carrying a small bag over his shoulder.

The second is described as white, also 19 or 20-years-old and approximately 5’11” . He was wearing a red cap and had sideburns.

The third offender was also black and of a similar height to the other two men. He is described as having some facial hair and was wearing jeans and white trainers.

The bike is described as a black and red Ammaco bike. It is a ‘Colorado’ model with a code of F15603. The bike frame is black with some red on it, and has Ammaco written on the frame in white writing.

Detective Constable Phil Raikes, investigating, said: “This incident has left the young victim very shaken, and he is nervous about something similar happening again. I want to find out who these people are as this is simply unacceptable.

“If you know who is responsible, or you recognise the description of the bike please come forward.”
