A 21-year-old man from Luton has been arrested on suspicion of being involved in the commission, preparation and instigation of terrorism.

The man was arrested at approximately 13.00hrs on Wednesday 27 April by officers from the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command (SO15), assisted by officers from the Eastern Counter Terrorism Intelligence Unit.

He is currently in custody at a south London police station.

The officers are investigating suspected terrorism offences including plans to travel to Syria to support a proscribed organisation.
