Luton house ruined after car crashes into it

The corner of a Luton building was smashed through after a car collision in the early hours of Sunday.

The home on the corner of Wellington Street and Russell Street was left badly damaged following the crash – in which the driver is said to have fled.

An abandoned car was spotted at the scene but police have not confirmed whether it was the vehicle involved.

A Beds Police spokesman said: “We were called at approximately 12.36am on Sunday, March 19, to reports that a car had collided with a building in Wellington Street, Luton.

“The driver is believed to have left the scene. Officers attended and an investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 quoting reference number 14 of the 19 March.”
