Luton man in court over '˜plot to kill US servicemen in Norfolk'

Jurors have been sworn in for the trial of a Luton man charged with planning a terrorist attack on US military personnel in Norfolk.

Junead Ahmed Khan, 25, denies making preparations for attacking military personnel in the UK between May 10 2015 and July 14 2015.

He appeared at Kingston Crown Court on Monday alongside his uncle, Shazib Ahmed Khan, 23, also from Luton, with whom he is also jointly charged with making preparations for travelling to Syria to fight for Islamic State (IS).

The men both deny engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts on August 1 2014 and July 15 2015.

The prosecution is due to open its case on Tuesday in what is expected to be a six-week trial.
