Man punched and kicked in Luton by gang asking for money

A man was left with a head injury after a vicious assault in Luton on Tuesday.

The shocking attack took place in St George’s Square at around 9pm when the victim was approached by three men who asked for money.

He was then punched, which knocked him to the floor and subsequently kicked by the two other offenders.

The victim managed to make his way to Biscot Road where a police officer helped him. He suffered a serious head injury and was taken to hospital for treatment.

The gang are described as white men with Polish accents.

PC Paul Falcon, investigating, said: “This ruthless attack caused serious injury and could have been a lot worse.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated and we are committed to clamping down on violence.

“We are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information that could assist our investigation to come forward.”
