Mum and child insulted and spat at in St George's Square

Police are investigating after a mum and her child were insulted and spat at by strangers in Luton.

At around 3.30pm last Sunday (April 24) the pair were walking through St George’s Square from The Mall when they were approached by two male strangers who spat at them and subjected them to verbal abuse.

The two men then left in the direction of the Mall.

One man is described as around 5’6” tall, Asian, with a beard, a black top, black tracksuit bottoms, and black trainers.

The second man was wearing a grey tracksuit top.

PC Richard Warren said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on an innocent women and her child, and was understandably distressing.

“I’m appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who experienced a similar incident to contact us.”
