A31 year old woman was subjected to an attempted robbery on Wednesday morning in Crescent Rise as she was making her way to work.

The offender grabbed the victim’s bottom and tried to take her bag before he ran from the

scene towards Hartley Road.

The offender is described as being of Asian appearance, in his late 30s, 5’7” tall with a skinny build and stubble on his face. He wore a black jacket, blue jeans and training shoes.

Detective Constable Dave Brecknock, investigating, is keen to trace anyone who can help identify the offender.

DC Brecknock said: “Luckily the victim wasn’t hurt during her ordeal but she is extremely shocked by the experience. From the description given and the man’s dishevelled appearance it is possible that he is living rough and I would urge anyone who has seen a person matching this description in the area recently to contact the police, in confidence.”

Anyone with information relating to this crime can contact DC Brecknock, at Luton Police Station, in confidence, on 01582 394499, or Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
