Police are hunting two men who robbed a hardware store in Luton on Saturday.

At around 11am, the men entered the Plumb Centre in Thistle Road and demanded the shop worker handed over money from the till.

The victim opened the till and gave the money to the two offenders, who fled through the fire exit on to Thistle Road.

Both men are described as white, slim, and wearing grey hooded tops. One was believed to be about six ft tall, in his late 20s, with ginger stubble. The second man was described as being in his early 20s and around 5’7”.

Det Con Scott Hannam, investigating, said: “Robbery, whether personal or business, is not acceptable and we are working hard to tackle these types of incidents.

“The incident happened in broad daylight, so there is a possibility that people witnessed what happened. I’d urge anyone who may be able to help us identify the two men responsible to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact DC Hannam on 101, text 07786 200 011, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
