Beds Police has opened an investigation into the death of a cat, which is believed to have been intentionally killed in Luton.

The incident is believed to have happened during the evening of Sunday February 28 in the Whitehall Avenue area.

The cat’s mutilated body was found by its owners the next day and tests carried out by a vet suggest the cat may have been intentionally killed.

PC Brendan Street, investigating, said: “We are investigating what we believe to be the deliberate killing of a cat which is obviously very upsetting for the pet’s owners.

“We’re working with the RSPCA to find out what happened and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Street on 101.
