A woman was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in the same road as Luton Police Station.
The incident happened at about 5.40pm on Friday as the 30-year-old was waiting for a taxi in Buxton Road.
The offender, a white man around 18 years old, approached her, pulled out a small knife and demanded she hand over her belongings.
At that point the taxi arrived and the offender fled.
On Monday, a taxi driver was also threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery in Ross Close. The incident happened at 11.45pm when the driver dropped a paying passenger off.
As the passenger left the vehicle, a man attempted to jump into the front of the taxi and demand cash. He pulled out a knife and threatened the driver, who drove off.
The man left the scene empty handed and ran towards the car park in Ross Close. The offender is described as a white man wearing dark clothing with a scarf covering his face.
Det Con Ben Stone said: “Luckily the victim was unhurt after his ordeal but this type of incident should not be happening to innocent members of the public going about their business. We need anyone who saw a man matching the description to come forward and assist with this investigation.”
