Two arrested on suspicion of attempted murder

Police have launched an attempted murder investigation after a man was struck with a scaffolding pole on a building site.

The 42-year-old victim suffered serious head injuries in the incident in Newport Pagnell, Bucks., at 8am on Sunday.

He was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford by air ambulance where he is still receiving treatment.

Two men aged 23 and 48, both from Luton, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

Det Ch Insp Mark Glover said: “We are in the early stages of this investigation and are working to establish exactly what has taken place.

“At this time we believe that the victim and the offenders know each other. We currently have two people in custody being questioned today.”
