A man was found dead in Carnegie Gardens this afternoon and police have launched an investigation.
Armed police attended the scene just after 2pm following a concern for safety call from the ambulance service.
Sadly the man died a short time after officers arrived and officers from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Team are investigating.
A cordon has been placed at the scene and officers are keen to speak with anyone who can help with the investigation.
Officers were seen breaking the door down at a house nearby, and armed police and dog units are still in the area.
A witness said: “The elderly gentleman was found in a garage by a lady who was delivering leaflets.”
Anyone with information is urged to contact Bedfordshire Police, in confidence, on 101, or text information to 07786 200011.
