A woman was stabbed in the chest in Marsh Farm on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services including Magpas Helimedix Air Ambulance were called to the scene at about 1pm.
The woman, who is in her 30s, was taken to hospital where she arrived in a stable condition.
Ali Akbar, 67, was arrested at the scene in Hickman Court, Copenhagen Close, and later charged with assault.
He appeared before Luton Magistrates Court this morning.
A Magpas spokesperson said: “The Magpas team assessed the patient and administered enhanced pain relief, whilst working alongside an EEAST Ambulance Crew. They then escorted the woman in a Land Ambulance, monitoring her condition all the way, to Luton and Dunstable Hospital. On arrival at the hospital, she was in a stable condition.
“An EEAST Ambulance Officer and the Bedfordshire Police were also on the scene. All the Emergency Services worked well together.”
