Next Generation Youth Theatre co-founder David Lloyd is passionate about getting youngsters involved in all aspects of the creative process.
That’s why he’s so excited about Threads, which NGYT is producing thanks to a little Arts Council funding for collaboration with How it Ended.
The brand new play – about growing up in a modern world – fuses movement with writing, poetry and live video.
Barton-based David, who started the group with his wife Laura in 2012, said: “It’s really important for local new writing to be heard by young people and for them to see their peers at the heart of the creative process.”
With this in mind, Threads is being presented free of charge at Luton Sixth Form College on Thursday, January 29.
He added: “Audience members will be encouraged to give feedback so that the company can develop the show for future performances.
“NGYT and How it Ended are passionate about creating a play that belongs to the young people of Luton, so we hope they will come along and play their part.”
