Following its record-breaking run two years ago, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage is back at Milton Keynes Theatre until November 8.
Written by Eleanor Bergstein, who scripted and co-produced the phenomenally successful 1987 film, the production features the same much loved characters with some exciting extra scenes thrown in to set pulses racing.
The sexy dance sequences and brand new choreography come alive on stage with all the unforgettable songs from the soundtrack including Do You Love Me, Hungry Eyes and the Academy Award-winning (I’ve Had) The Time of my Life.
Gareth Bailey stars as Johnny Castle, one of the most iconic roles in popular culture. He started his Dirty Dancing career in the first UK tour playing Robbie. He went on to play Johnny in South Africa as part of the international tour prior to joining the West End company.
Roseanna Frascona has been cast as idealistic Baby Houseman who discovers love and life in a summer she will never forget while Claire Rogers will play Penny Johnson.
Producer Karl Sydow said: “We’re so happy to be returning to Milton Keynes where the record-breaking first national tour wowed the public in May 2012.
“The unique combination of Eleanor Bergstein’s story and the breathtaking dancing for which the show is renowned has proved so popular around the country that we are really looking forward to allowing audiences to relive this fabulous spectacle.”
More than five million people worldwide have seen the sensational production which ran for five years at the Aldwych Theatre on London.
