Little learners at Dunstable’s Tithe Farm Primary School are moving towards a more mindful approach, after a morning of sessions with yoga teacher Sophie Morris.
Headteacher Deborah Pargeter said: ”We feel Sophie’s yoga is an excellent medium to help our children to reflect more broadly on their well-being and understand how their bodies and brains respond to particular situations.
“The sessions were fun, interactive and loved by all the children. They were totally unaware that they were also developing a better understanding of themselves and improving their mental well-being . . . until we pointed it out.”
Sophie, 25, who trained in India and at Kidding Around Yoga in London, said: “They all seemed to love the songs and enjoyed learning the poses.
“Each class engaged in all of the activities and concentrated extremely well in the workshop. The children tried very hard to switch off in the relaxation and I would love to share more yoga classes with them.”
