A LEVELS: Cardinal Newman thrilled with '˜stunning' results

Students at Cardinal Newman Catholic School are celebrating a 'stunning' set of A Level results, it has been revealed.

Close to a quarter of all entries achieved A*-A grade outcomes and almost 80% of grades were at A*-C.

Around 10% of students at Cardinal Newman secured three or more A levels at grade A and above.

They include Katie Nelson, Keai Wacey, Joe Brady, James Boyle, Mark El-Lamaa, Lucy Edwards, Colm Sam, Rebecca Blanchett and Conor Moran.

The school stated that many more students made “outstanding” progress and should be proud of their achievements.

Headteacher Joe Richardson said: “The results secured this year stand as the best we have seen at Cardinal Newman School.

“They reflect our commitment to high standards, the powerful support we put in place for our students and sheer hard work.

“I would like thank students and colleagues alike for their hard work and dedication and congratulate everyone on their excellent achievement.”

Furthermore, 95% of all students achieved 3 A Level passes which compares to a national average of 77% in 2015.
