Festive railway art competition

editorial image

Art-loving railway children are invited to showcase their skills, and they could win a prize while they are at it.

Rail operator First Capital Connect (FCC) has launched its first-ever Christmas drawing competition, with categories for children aged four to seven and eight to 12.

Youngsters are asked to draw an A4-sized picture with the theme ‘Christmas on FCC Railways,’ and the winners will be judged on their creativity rather than their artistic skills.

One overall winner in each age group will receive a £50 Toys R Us voucher and a family ticket on the FCC network, and three regional winners will each receive a £25 voucher and a family rail ticket. All of the winners will also have their pictures displayed at their local station ticket office windows.

Children should send their drawings to: Lynn Howarth, First Capital Connect, Hertford House, 1 Cranwood Street, London, EC1V 9QS by Friday, December 7.

Please write the artist’s name, telephone number and address on the back of the drawing.
