Youth Cantores going for gold

TALENTED girls’ choir Luton Youth Cantores is launching its bid to become UK choir of the year at Milton Keynes on Sunday (February 5).

Ranging in age from 12 to 19, the 50-strong ensemble will compete against singers of all ages in the first heat of the contest.

The repertoire will include everything from Back to barbershop and from gospel to glee.

If they’re successful, they’ll take part in the category finals on October 6.

The grand finale is in London on October 28 and will be broadcast by the BBC.
