Vauxhall helps Luton project hit the road
The Luton Community Arts Trust's SNAP project, which has won the use of a Vauxhall vehicle for 11 months in the 2007 Griffin Awards, works creatively with young people using music, photography, and visual arts to explore subjects such as sexual health, drug and alcohol use, abuse and bullying while also exploring their aspirations and the issues which could stop them achieving them.
Young people are encouraged to discuss their problems in an atmosphere that provides support without judgement or condemnation, but pointing them towards specialist agencies which might be able to help.
There are regular drop-in sessions for young people, the majority of whom who are not in employment, education or training.
There is also outreach work with youth clubs and other agencies.
