The Blue Arrow volunteer team take a break from the action at Stockwood Discovery Centre

Green fingered volunteers from Blue Arrow got down and dirty at Stockwood Disocvery Centre as they turned their hand to something different.

The employment and recruitment agency staff took on a range of activities including weeding, mending greenhouses, clearing paths and planting.

Spokesman Paul Evans said: “As one of Luton’s largest employers, we wanted to give something back to the community and do something worthwhile for the local area.

“The team thoroughly enjoyed the day and we’re already looking forward to what our 2016 community project could be.”

Portfolio holder for community development Cllr Jacqui Burnett said: “Volunteering strengthens businesses, motivates staff and makes a real difference.

“It’s also the perfect way to learn new skills and obtain the practical experience that gives you something to offer prospective employers.”
