He only ever intended to stay a year!

A long-serving employee has been rewarded after chalking up 30 years working for Sainsbury’s.

David Pardoe who works for the supermarket’s Luton, Bury Park store enjoyed a long service dinner at the Double Tree Hilton Hotel in Milton Keynes, as thanks for his efforts.

David said: “Although I only intended to stay a year, the people have kept me here, as everyone is so nice and it has been a pleasure to work with them. Today some of my oldest friends are people I have worked with’’

David has been working for Sainsbury’s since October 24, 1984 and in that time has worked evening shift, produce, fresh foods, checkouts, meat room, fish counter, salad bar, delicatessen, and hot food.
