Courageous Tony Jules has smashed the half way mark on his target to raise £40,000 to pay for an ‘angel’ – the annual cost of a nurse at Keech Hospice Care.

Now the UK Centre for Carnival Arts is joining his campaign and putting on a charity calypso event on Saturday, November 7.

UKCCA chairman Hopton Walker said: “Tony is very well known in Luton and has been a staunch supporter of ours and within the community for many years.

“It’s a testament to the man that in his worst moment he is still thinking of others and that’s why we want to support him. We will be linking up with him via video link so he can be part of this wonderful night too.”

Tickets are £35 each and include a welcome drink, three-course dinner, live entertainment, dancing, an auction and a raffle. UK Calypso monarch Alexander D Great will be performing alongside Debra ‘Pan Diva’ Romain and saxophonist Ian Hubbard.

Tony, who is dying of prostate cancer, said: “I want to send a massive special thank you as you continue to send your inspirational messages of support and donations.”
