Luton Town reached the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy with a last-gasp 2-1 win over Leyton Orient at Kenilworth Road last night.
The Hatters were in front after half an hour with Danny Green scoring his first goal for the club in spectacular fashion.
Orient equalised on 57 minutes through Lloyd James’ penalty, conceded by Town defender Scott Cuthbert.
Luton were then reduced to 10 men as striker Jack Marriott was shown his marching orders with 10 minutes to go, but in the closing seconds, Stephen O’Donnell deflected Ryan Hall’s fierce strike into the net to ensure the hosts progressed.
