Islamic charity night in Luton raises over £10,000

An Islamic charity night in Luton has raised over £10,000 towards helping third world countries access clean drinking water.

Minhaj Welfare Foundation held the Raising Smiles 1017 charity event on Sunday, February 12 at Luton Library Theatre.

The event was attended by hundreds of people from Luton and beyond, with special guests Zain Jerry from Accrington, Milad Raza Qadri from Glasgow, Shahbaz Hassan Qadri from Manchester and Minhaj Naat Group (MNG) from Paris, France.

Spokesman Mohammed Ali Javed said: “We raised £10,000 in our first charity event in Luton. The MWF team will start working on the projects in Kenya.”

The audience listened to religious music and Adnan Sohail delivered a speech outlining the projects of Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) and its upcoming projects. A video clip was shown to the audience showing projects of MWF and how the people of Kenya are without food and clean water.
