Job cuts at Luton's GM plant confirmed

Consultation process has started

Bosses at Luton's GM van plant have today started a consultation with workers and unions on the 354 jobs set to go during the company's restructuring.

A spokesman for GM said: "One element of the current plan is a proposal to reduce GMM Luton's headcount by 354 employees to right-size the business in line with the 2010 forecast production volume.

"However, this number is subject to further local consultation."
