Author Mike is on the ascent
Mike French with his debut novel
A LUTON author has successfully had his debut novel published.
Mike French’s book, The Ascent of Isaac Steward, is printed by Cauliay Publishing.
Mr French, editor of the literary magazine The View From Here, has spent the last six years trying to get a publisher. The 44 year-old said: “I am ecstatic. After years of effort, I had semi-given up.”
The Ascent of Isaac Steward investigates an individual suffering a complete breakdown.
Mr French was previously an optical engineer, but became a stay-at-home dad while his wife, Emma, worked. Writing became a creative pastime - he had never previously planned to write a book.
Mr French said it was like discovering a hidden passion. Asked if he intends to keep on writing, he said: “Absolutely. I’ve got the bug now!”
In fact, Mr French has already finished his second book.
The author will be holding a number of book signings. He will be at WH Smith in The Mall, Luton on Saturday, July 23 from 10am, and Luton Central Library on Saturday, August 27 from 11am to 4pm.
The Ascent of Isaac Steward is currently available online from www.amazon.co.uk and www.bookdepository.co.uk
